This laptop bag is huge! The comp sleeve is good sized and well protected, the there's more than enough room for everthing else. I've used it for back and forth to school as well as travel. If you want a large back-pack instead of over the shoulder carry bag, you'll love it. The material is a bit more "burlap" like than I expected so I'm not sure how good it will look a couple of years from now.

I ordered this backpack because I wanted a stylish alternative to the typical boring-looking backpack. It is certainly as stylish in person as in the picture, although much larger than I has envisioned. The design is unique, and the backpack is made of durable canvas. The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable.



The other reviewers are correct that there are no divided organizer-type pockets. These are the backpack's storage areas:

* Backside pocket under shoulder straps, 11" wide x 7" tall.

* Front outside pocket on outside flap, 10" wide x 6" tall. This pocket has a vertical zipper and can be accessed while the backpack is closed.

* Front outside pocket under outside flap, 12" wide x 6" tall.

* Front outside pocket under outside flap, 11" wide x 9" tall.

* Laptop storage pocket, 13" wide x 15" tall.

* Driver license/credit card/business card pocket inside backpack.

* Roomy open inside of backpack. This measures about 12" wide x 14" tall x 6" deep when there's no laptop. This area is really big!



I don't use this backpack for my 15.4" laptop because the bag is just to big-- bigger than most regular backpacks, even. My laptop swims in the laptop compartment, which has somewhat mediocre padding. The backpack is too big to haul to work every day, but may be perfect for a student who must haul gigantic books around, or for taking on outings or to the gym. I don't miss the organizational pockets, but a pack this big could really use at least a place to hang keys, which easily get lost in all the space. I would encourage a potential buyer to consider the dimensions of the pack before committing to buy.



I use this pack for my origami supplies, including my large paper-cutter, books and paper, and it works great for me. Overall, the backpack is large, durable and comfortable, and can be put to variety of uses.

Yes, it is missing water bottle holders and organizational pockets. I will live. I can organize myself into 5 pockets and manage to carry my water in a sealed bottle.

I love this laptop backpack because of its stylish, modern appearance, but the laptop protector lining ripped only after about 1 week of regular use. The foam padding now sticks out. That was a disappointment. The pack is also very roomy, but lacks interior pockets or compartments for cell phones, pens, and keys. I had to purchase additional mini-organizers to hold these smaller items. Overall a good backpack although I hope yours doesn't fall apart as quickly as mine did.

The best laptop backpack I've seen! Most laptop bags I've seen don't have much room for accessories, but this SwissGear definitely makes a great impression. In the rearward most compartment is the space for the laptop, which I face bottom-side towards the carrying side (not to damage the screen). In the same compartment, there are two mesh nets to hold a power cable and peripherals. Even with that much, I still had enough room to throw in some ethernet cable.



The middle compartment had plenty of room for text books, notebooks or a small CD case and some tools. Also, there is a portable media player pouch at the top, that you can put your mp3 player in, and route the headphone cable through the provided slot right next the rear compartment zipper. This extra media player compartment is padded, so it won't scratch your screen, but won't absorb a large shock either.



In the forward most compartment, you will see a plethora of compartments. Everything from a place to keep your keeps snapped in, room for some pens and sharpies, cell phone, SD cards and all! There are 2 zipper compartments in here as well, which is were I keep my MicroSD cards and USB dongles.



The material that was used is very high quality, very attractive, and the stitching at the seems is also heavy duty, so I'm assuming I will use this backpack for years to come. A great feature I noted, was that the zipper handles have enlarges rings, so you can lock them shut, or run a notebook locking cable through the holes, and then attach the lock to the D ring on the carrying handle.



I carry a lot of equipment in this bag, and the air-flow design on the back, along with the high-density padding helps out when carrying for long periods of time. Adjusting the straps for different body mass is a sinch. On the right carrying strap is room for your favorite Swiss Army knife, and on the left, is a loop for carrying your sun glasses.



I'm 6'0" and weight 150 lbs, so I need the strap adjusted at a higher level to be comfortable with a full pack. The only annoyance I've had, is that the extra strap that used to pull down to adjust the strap, dangels down and can hit things, but this is an easy fix by wrapping the extra around the base of the strap a few times.



In conclusion, I only paid around $50 including shipping, and was a very worthwhile investment. I recommend this to anybody in the IT field, or students on the go.

I just received it on saturday and got it to work only this monday. it can hold the laptop, agenda and office stuff pretty well. I bought it to replace another back pack that wasn't so confortable and also a little to heavy.



i travel by plane quite a bit, so carrying the laptop on trips is a most due to work. i have tested this bag full and it is very confortable. Looks very well built and durable.

Great BackPack, Nice and comfortable, I got two (the black and the red), I like the black the most. The only bad thing about the red version is that is very hard to reach the small pockets in the front.. is much more easy to find the small things in the black version.. because if you watch closely, the front pocket is so deep from the top to the bottom, and the small pockets are in the middle of the way down.. so if you want to get something from the small pockets in the front you will have to put your arm all the way down and look for it just touching (feeling), cuz you are not able to see what are you looking for if your arm is inside the pocket.

I bought this bag to replace my Ogio Big Dome bag that I was taking to work everyday. I wanted something a little more professional looking to carry my workout clothes and the occasional work papers. Was also just looking for a more backpack carrying style vs. the "over the shoulder" duffle type gym bag.



Everything I carrie in the Ogio fits in the Synergy in a much more organized fashion. The only thing I'm getting used to is the "bulkiness" of the back. It's really not too bulky. It just feels like it sticks out away from your back a lot. I guess the only way to fix this would be to make the bag longer vs. shorter and wider, but it's really not that big of a deal.



Also, if needed, I can carry my 16" HP laptop in the laptop compartment. I do not carry the laptop with me on a daily basis, but did on a trip recently and it fit fine.

I looked long and hard and actually returned two other packs before settling on the Synergy. I needed a bag that would serve as my "second" carry-on for plane travel and thus it needed to fit under the airplane seat. In addition, it needed to carry my computer, some books and files and additional accessories for work. The Synergy does all this and it has fit under every airplane seat I've tried in the five months since I bought it. I've flown dozens of times in the US and Europe. In a few cases I had to turn the pack around and push it in pockets first and that worked fine, even on flights where the flight attendants were real sticklers for having bags all the way under the seat. I also find the straps comfortable and the chest strap is at a good height (I'm 5'4") for me.

I bought this back just before I started college. It has been able to accommodate everything I've needed so far. Plenty of books and notepads, and my laptop every day. I also carry it to friends houses with my computer, power, and whatever else I decided to bring. This bag handles everything from just a few little items all the way to packing it to the point it is difficult to zip up-- and the zippers have never skipped a tooth.



I can't tell you how many people have come up to me asking about my backpack either because they were looking at the same thing or because they suddenly realized their backpack sucked compared to mine. I also can't tell you how many people I see with them around campus. Sot they've been put to the test and have passed.



I have dropped it or thrown it down a few times and was scarred about my laptop. But it always turns out to be fine. I have a MacBook Pro Santa Rosa circa July 2007 15.4" and it fits perfectly in the laptop compartment-- as if the bag was designed for it.



This bag will definitely get me through college without any problems. Highly recommend.

I purchased this backpack to carry around my HP Pavilion laptop and other portable electronics. It serves this purpose fairly well and is comfortable to wear around town. The construction is solid it is overall quite functional.



My only real gripe thus far is the fit of my laptop in the bag when I have a lot of items in it. The opening is rounded around the laptop sleeve which makes it difficult to fit the corners into when there's little slack. If you don't intend to fill the pack it will not be an issue.

This is a great product for anyone who does a fair deal of traveling with a laptop, i.e. student, professional, or anyone wanting to have their laptop on hand at all times. I use it about everyday or so and it fits my 15" laptop great. It has a velcro strap to keep the laptop snug and plenty of extra room for powercords, external HDs, and i can even get my bluetooth keyboard in it with the mouse in the top pouch. Not only does it accommodate my laptop and all my accessories, but its incredibly comfortable on the shoulders too. I have not had any problems with straps breaking off or anything like I've read about in other reviews so no worries there. If you're looking for a laptop case that's convenient, comfortable, plenty of space for your stuff, and looks decent too without a bunch of labels sticking out in annoyance this is definitely the one you should use. 5 stars, no complaints, and i rarely do reviews on products unless they really deserve it bad or good, so in my opinion this pack is really worth every penny. Enjoy!

The bag was a little larger than expected, but great if you are a student and need the room for your school supplies. The design of the bag is great, everything fits nice and snug that needs to be. The straps are easy to adjust and are comfortable. The material for the bag is nice and strong. So you ask yourself why only three stars well let me tell you. I do not know if it is a fluck with this bag or what, but when my wife picked the bag up by the top handle the handle ripped off on one side. The stitching gave out after only a week of use. My wife only had her labtop and a few other things in it for work. Luckly for us we have a shop near by that does heavy material sewing and was able to get it fixed for less than it would have cost to ship it back for a return.

I really like this bag! Not only is it cute, but it is also ideal for carry around your laptop and school books in. I can fit my 14.1' laptop in the paded area and theres still a lot of room at the top. When it first arrived I was impressed with how quickly it came. Looking at the bag I was concerned that it wouldn't hold everything that I needed to take with me. I'm a college student and typically carry around my laptop and at least 2 textbooks and notebooks. This bag held everything! I was able to put 3 larger texts, 3notebooks, a folder, my laptop and all the cords for the computer in at one time. The straps are nice and help when carrying large loads. Although I would have liked more pockets, the ones provided do fit most of everything I wanted. The only complaint I have is that that there is no pocket on the top of the bag to carry pens or misc. things in. Other than that the bag is great! I'd recommend it to any student.

I bought this bag as an alternative to the traditional backpack because I wanted to be able to travel with a bag securely on my back with no hands needed. It is snug and comfortable to wear and holds my 17" MPB as well as a book, the power supply, and a few other items. There are plenty of pockets to put pens, business cards, change, cash, etc.



There are a couple of things to know concerning the bag though. If you have a 17" MBP, the fit is quite tight and it *just* zippers around it. I don't have a problem with this. Also, if you have an iPhone, the pocket on the strap that goes in the front will not fit it. I use it for my ID or whatever else I need quick access to when traveling.



I really love this bag. It's just big enough to hold the essentials and it's lightweight. Love all the pockets and compartments, as well as the included bag for accessories. It's a great buy!

This is a great bag! Sturdy and well-padded, but light. It is very small, though - it holds little more than my 15-inch Mac and some papers or small notebooks. I actually appreciate this feature as it makes me carry only what I need, which is easier on my back. It has lots of pockets everywhere, which is also very useful. I think my only complaint is how long the strap is. I'm not a tiny person, but I have the strap pulled as tight as possible and it's still a bit big, plus I've had to rig it to keep the end of the strap from hanging down well past my hip.



Overall it's a great bag and I'm happy with my purchase.

I really love this bag. I've taken great care of it but for some reason the sewing near the zipper is coming undone and now I can see inside my bag... I'm no expert at sewing, but I'm going to attempt to fix it. The reason I love this bag is the fact that it feels so light even with my 15" macbook inside and other items. You can easily fit a notebook in it along with pencils, your laptop charger, and mouse. It has a little hole to slip your headphones from in case you want to listen to music on the go. Very nice design :) I'm just a bit depressed mine is breaking :( I still use it though, lol.

If you are looking for a bag that you could carry and walk for long distances, then this is not your right choice. The bag is trendy not too big but the fact that is has only one sholder handle makes carrying a laptop in it as painful as carrying a laptop in a handbag as i used to do. I would recomment the same bag with two sholder handles, that would probably hurt less!
