Lightweight and well designed. The standalone zipper pocket for the laptop itself makes it easy to take the computer in and out quickly; this is especially useful when going through flight security.



I prefer this to the once trendy Timbuktu courier bag because it's lighter and more useful. It's also about one third of the price.

This is a very good bag for the college student especially. I like it's mobility and toughness. The one small thing that I had a problem with the first day was the zipper string fell off one of the zippers. It seemed a little premature for the first day, so I got a little nervous, but after that, nothing has gone wrong. It feels very rugged and you can tell that it won't rip on you and it seems like it will last me for years to come. A great deal here on Amazon! Thank You!

Even though my laptop doesn't fit in the provided slot, I still love this bag. I would agree that Speck products are more suited for Macs, and since I have a 17 inch Dell Studio, it's not even a tight squeeze- it's just not gonna happen. However, the padding in the entire bag is sufficient enough that I feel comfortable leaving my laptop in the main pocket, right in front of the laptop one. You can still fit something else in the laptop pocket at the same time, so it's really not a big issue. I also quite enjoy all the "secret" compartments such as the water bottle pocket that can be zipped away, the mp3 player slot, and other not so obvious places to store your stuff. The straps are very sturdy and comfortable, the zippers run smooth, and the fabric seems like it will hold up well. I wouldn't recommend it if you need to carry around tons o' stuff, but I'm using it for college and I think everything will fit fine. Overall a cool looking and nifty bag.

I was a little scared about the fit for my laptop after reading another review about it not fitting a 17" Hp laptop. I made the purchase and I must say this bag is great. My laptop fits perfectly and can be removed with no issue. I would not recommend using it for a 17" laptop, unless it is an apple laptop.



The secret back door compartment on this bag is great. I can finally remove my laptop without actually opening up the whole bag. You simply just unzip the back support (back cushion) and remove it, or place it back.



I highly recommend this bag to anyone if you are searching for a quality bag and great support for your laptop.



Just for FYI, If you buy this bag on the company website you will pay $100, but if you buy through Amazon you only pay $55 not including shipping.

I purchased this backpack in the hopes that it would fit my HP 17inch laptop. It does but it is very, very snug. I have to stretch the bag over the laptop, it does zipper just fine, but it definitely does not fit all 17 inch laptops comfortably.

I was looking for a replacement for my old laptop case and after reading several reviews saying the one they bought was too small I went with the XL. I have a IBM Thinkpad 15.4 inch screen and it can fit with plenty of room for a 17" laptop with no problem.If you put stuff in all the pockets its a chore to open up the bag to access the inside pockets.The pocket with the triangle is magnetic and I cought my blackberry serval times falling out when i went to get my keys from the inside pocket.The other two pockets are zippered worked fine. The product is well built with the exceptions. The plastic clips are cheap feeling and when you walk they rattle.You can hold a small or a large bottle. That works nicely.The Strap needs ver 2.0 when you convert to a single strap instead of the backpack the straps dangle everywhere.Its not a clean look like in the pictures.They should have added velcro or a snap for the strap to clip on so it doesn't flap everywhere. On the inside there is two straps for a large umbrella. Get ready to step aside at the subway so other people can exit because with the front pockets full this becomes a chore. The straps inside aren't speed clipped for quick release. If you don't strap in the umbrella tightly it will fall out. Your better off buying a mini umbrella and use the other side of the bag opposite of the water bottles.Unless you have a 17inch laptop or macbook go with the smaller one.

I carry a Dell Vostro 1700, (so-so computer at best, great screen though) and because of the weight / size I was looking for a good carry solution. This bag is the one I picked after a little research. I never have been satisifed with laptop backpacks in general, and I wanted something more like a messenger bag.



Exterior access of laptop is very handy at the airport security point. The bag handles my laptop (barely) in the dedicated section.



No documentation: it will take a minute to figure out the right flip to convert the messenger strap to a backback strap. However, once done and on your back, the pak carries low against your backside and the weight is barely noticeable. Because of the low carry / low center of gravity, there is minimal affect on your posture while you carry it in that mode.



Overall I am very pleased with the bag. The nylon straps below the padded shoulder section seem a little flimsy, (7/8") but are holding up fine so far.

After reading every review on both the 15.4 and the matching 17 inch bag, I decided on the 15.4 for my HDX16 (16 inch monitor). It fits in the computer 'compartment' perfectly. There is just enough room for the laptop 'flap-thing' to secure it in place (my 17 inch also fits in the compartment but the 'flap thing' does not secure it because it is too tall).



I had wanted a bag that would allow me to safely carry both my computer and some camera equipment without looking like a computer bag/camera case. The giant open area in the main compartment is big enough for all of that as well as my lunch. The canvas is a nice change compared to the industry standard computer bags currently on the market and it is just as sturdy/durable feeling. The pictures here do not reflect how big the bag actually is. The open compartment seems much deeper in person than it does in the pictures. That being said...



Yes, it is big but from what others wrote I was almost expecting to have something suitable for a 3 week hiking trip. My previous laptop was a 17 inch and the backpack I had for it was bigger, bulkier, heavier, really ugly, and was so much wider than me that I would actually hit it with my elbows any time I walked or shifted the bag. This one, to me, is a very acceptable size (and at 5 foot 2.5 inches with my chucks on, I'm pretty short). Please see the very thorough review by Aimee Cowles for all the dimensions.



The only drawback for me is that the "Tattoo design with custom interior graphics" is a little cheesy. There will definitely be a modification or two to the graphic. Possibly with a well placed sharpie. This is why I chose 4 stars instead of 5.



If I still had my 15.4 laptop this bag would be too big without some kind of additional padding or sleeve as other reviewers have said.



Overall the bag is just what it looks like. Something different that holds a bunch of stuff.

I've gotten compliments on the style, but this bag is so huge (inside and on my body) that it just gets too heavy and big. There's room for your laptop gym clothes and then some, but the structure isn't comfortable enough, especially when full. The shoulder straps aren't very good, because I have had back aches.



I am going for a slimmer, more compact model.

Nice look, light weight, good bag. Less rigid than I expected and bigger; I have a 15" macbook pro, I would have prefered the bag to be smaller. Other than that, it is as shown with 4 half height pockets of which one is easily accessed on the top flap if you hold the bag on the left shoulder only (I really appreciate that). Flying papers tend to get crumpled because the only place to put them is in the main compartment (they can go with the computer though).

This laptop bag is huge! The comp sleeve is good sized and well protected, the there's more than enough room for everthing else. I've used it for back and forth to school as well as travel. If you want a large back-pack instead of over the shoulder carry bag, you'll love it. The material is a bit more "burlap" like than I expected so I'm not sure how good it will look a couple of years from now.

This bag had all the makings of a great, small, light, and simple bag, but for one major flaw. There are three zippered pockets, the main compartment, the middle accessory compartment and a small outer compartment. Both the main and small outer zippers work great and are well constructed. The middle zipper is far too light and will never stay zip closed and it always gets caught on the zipper liner.



Now for the good things:

The exterior material is well crafted and is waterproof. The liner is soft but strong and perfectly stitched. The inner main compartment is divided so you can toss in some papers or a small book or two, while protecting the laptop. The middle accessory compartment is large enough for the power brick, a portable hard drive and a few other small objects. The outer pouch is really tiny and will only fit pens, a cell phone and small papers. This is a lean bag all around which I think is a plus and makes the bag clean and trim. I also like the high quality padding in the straps and the back.



I will contact Belkin and update this review as to the quality of their customer service.
