 "The perfect student backpack" 2009-07-18
By Z. Pham (Corona, CA United States)
This is a beautiful backpack. It is quality to the core. The stitching is finished inside and out. The zippers are heavy duty. The padding is thick and soft on the shoulders and the back. There are compartments everywhere for the laptop, the IPod, water bottles and anything else you can think of. There is one large outer pocket that is open on top , tied down with straps, that is useful if you want to place something within easy access. The smaller outer compartment has pockets for pens and calculators or other knickknacks. There's even a pocket on the strap for a cell phone.

It is a hefty size even when empty, but my 8 year-old son fell in love with it. He carried it full of gear when we were on a trip all the way through several large airports and he didn't complain. I've tried it myself and it is quite comfortable. The straps adjust easily and the padding is well-placed. It's the perfect backpack!

 "Perfection has been found." 2009-06-08
By Meagen Jensen (DC, USA)
I've had this backpack almost every day for two years, and it has yet to show signs of wear and tear. I'm a college student, so it definitely gets thrown around. BUY IT. It fits my massive laptop. It handles heavy wear. None of the plastic grips/handles have broken.

A few months ago, I tried on someone else's backpack. It was off again in less than five minutes. I couldn't believe that people actually use other backpacks - they HURT! This backpack cushions its own weight, has nice pads on the inside back so that it doesn't lean right up against your back... It was made for perfection.

If I could change one thing, it would be to add hip straps - you know, the kind that clip around your hip bones, to provide a little more support. But that's because I often have 35+ pounds in the bag. (You can never have too much support in that situation, haha.)

The only two things that HAVE broken are:

1. The shoulder straps have elastic on them, which really helps carry the weight of the backpack. A two inch portion of stitching came undone a few months after I had the backpack. I sewed it back together, and it hasn't caused problems since then.

2. At the bottom of a shoulder strap, there's one of those circle plastic hooky things. (I have no idea what to call them.) Anyway, a small part of the thin plastic broke after two years of rough use. It doesn't affect functionality.

I would absolutely recommend this bag to anyone.

"Durable backpack, but padding ruined my shirts!" 2009-05-03
By J_Sant (MA USA)
I have owned this backpack for 1 year now (red version). I bought it to carry heavy school books and my 15.4" Dell laptop, which fit just fine.

Pros:

- Strong, durable construction.

- multiple pockets to hold everything imaginable.

- side pocket mesh holds my water bottle.

- Top pocket is small and perfect for a wallet.

Cons:

- Heavy. I'm a 5'1 woman and this backpack can be incredibly heavy. It feels bulky even when nothing's in it.

(Wenger website says it weighs 4 lbs. 3 oz. empty) [...]

- The mesh padding on the bottom of the back literally "pills" my t-shirts! What do I mean by that? Well, the padding is made of a mesh fabric that has numerous "breathable" holes. However, as the bottom part of the mesh constantly rubs against the back of your shirt, it starts to wear away the cotton, and it pills into little lint bumps! It took me months to find out it was the backpack that was RUINING my cotton shirts! My shirts where the bottom backpack touches look like an old, lint sock!

If I could, I'd return this but it's too late now.

Do yourself a favor and walk into a store and actually try these laptop backpacks on yourself to see if they fit you. Some are much too large for certain body frames.

And DON'T buy this one if you don't want your shirts looking haggard!

Bag is nice, fits the 17in dell with no problems which is what I needed it for. the only thing I would ask for is a little more space for some other materials though there is some I feel it is not enough. I do however, like the size of the overall size of the bags dimensions.

"good pack for most 17" laptops" 2009-03-06
By Bobby (CO)
I was having a hard time finding a backpack large enough for my Toshiba Qosmio. The laptop is thicker than most 17" models, so it is real snug in the designed pocket. Also, since the notebook is thicker, the zippers rub the corners. I don't travel alot, so I am using the main compartment instead as there are plenty of other pockets for accessories. I think a thinner notebook would fit very well in the bag and it offers more cushion/protection than my other option..Targus XL.

"Very happy; would recommend highly!" 2009-07-06
By R. L. Young (East Michigan)
I was very happy to find this package had come. I immediately placed my laptop in the bag and took it for a spin. I love the look of the bag, and it fit my laptop perfectly. It also evened out the weight very well (i was having problems with my last computer bag being on one shoulder, causing pain). It has pockets for accessories, though the outer pockets could be a bit more loose to fit other objects. Great value for the price paid.

I was very excited when I saw this product online. It seemed very affordable and compact. However, after ordering and receiving same, I was disappointed with the colors. It looked like a dark gray, but it's actually a very light gray. Luckily, I was able to sell it to a girl @ work because the colors were very effeminate. Barring the colors though, it's a good product.

"First impression: GREAT for my Eee PC 1000he netbook!" 2009-04-14
By David Alan Sikes (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2JA6ZS1I3NXF5 ***The attached video is just to show you the bag, and some of its features***

I just got this in the mail, and I am very excited about this backpack.

While this backpack looks simple (which is great), it really is a feature-packed backpack.

- There are pockets galore of every size you could imagine.

- The padding for the laptop is out of this world. Thick on both sides, while having a soft, felt liner. Great!

- A removable bag that fits my power cable, mouse, flash drive and all my computer accessories, but that slides into a the bottom of the bag form-fittingly. That's really handy. (see video)

- Cell phone/iPod pocket on the shoulder strap

- Music pocket on the back with headphone hole.

- It looks like the picture, meaning it looks REALLY cool!

This small bag can fit a lot of stuff and remain thin. It's incredible.

The only thing I wish I could do with this bag is have a sleeve for a water bottle, but that's a small thing that most don't even use.

Also, this bag IS made for 15.4" notebooks. I have a 10" netbook. The length of my computer (side-side) happens to be the same width as the sleeve, so my computer fits perfectly when I turn it. However, if you have anything in between, it won't be very form-fitting. (see video)

Comment if you have any questions about the product! I'm happy to answer :)

This backpack is hoding up well; I haven't had it long enough to tell if it will take it for years tho. The pockets are mostly convenient and the straps are pretty comfortable. I was dubious of how comfortable the backpack would be when fully loaded with books and my computer, but the padded "airflow" back and the padded straps distributed the weight evenly and didn't drag on my shoulders as many of my other backpacks had done. Overall, I really love it!

I've read this book countless number of times in my life. I downloaded it telling myself I didn't need to download it but I got to reading it on my ipod touch no less and I got caught up in it. Every time I was out I'd pull it out of my purse and read a little bit here and there. Throughly enjoyed the book again! Very good experience and can't wait to read my next book. I've gone overboard on the freebies but purchased some books too. Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful book.

 "Try the Zombie Edition!" 2009-07-02
By Margaret Kohut (Montana)
A very loooooong time ago I was a Honors English student in college; we read the classics voraciously. While Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights" is one of my all-time favorites, I always dreaded reading Jane Austin. She can be very bland, dry, and boring. This book is a bit different, with the characters showing more wit than Austin usually provides.

I recently read the "Zombie" format of this work and found it absolutely laugh-out-loud funny! Can't wait to see the movie! If you like this book, by all means pick up the P,P & Z edition and prepare to be charmed all over again.

Best,

"Nice For Some, Maybe Even Most, But Sadly Not For Me" 2009-06-27
By Barb Mechalke (in the lovely Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York)
Nice For Some Maybe Even Most, But Sadly Not My Cup of Tea

To those of you who adore Jane Austen please try not to take it personally that I did not love this book, it is not an insult to you OR her.

I have traditionally avoided the classics but made a recent resolution to try some. I made a list of a dozen or so and have had mixed results so far.

I think that my expectations were too high, I was expecting something like Jane Eyre, which I loved. Unfortunately I found 'Pride and Prejudice' a little too frivolous for my tastes.

Perhaps if I had known what I was getting before I started I would have been less disappointed? It felt like a fluffy romance novel, which I do not in general care for. I love a good love story, part of why I loved Jane Eyre.

Maybe if it had been called 'Pretty Girls Out Husband Hunting' or 'Lydia Lands In a Jam' or something equally silly I would have known what I was in for.

Maybe this wasn't the best first Jane Austen novel to read?

I'm not sure if I will be reading another.

Okay, I know that 655 of you loved this and many of you will have to give me a negative vote because we don't agree...So, let the negative votes begin *winces*.

 "Classic Literature" 2009-05-22
By J. Hough
I am trying to read more classics because I never really paid attention to them in high school. I started reading this one and at first I was having a hard time getting into it, it is a bit slow. But by the second half of the book I couldn't put it down. Terrific love story, literature at its finest.

 "Greatest Romance Ever!" 2009-05-21
By Jamie
Before I read this book I saw the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. I loved the movie and I was inspired instantly to read Jane Austen's classic novel. Despite the fact that I had already seen the movie and knew the general progression of events I was still captivated by the novel. Jane Austen writes with an incredible literary style that is lacking in the works of most contemporary authors. She has an eloquence of words that is complex and yet far easier to read than most people seem to think. Though I am usually not a fan of novels that are based in reality without any hint of the supernatural I was enthralled by Austen's timeless love story which will leave every female reader pining for the dark and brooding Mr. Darcy.

"If you believe it's time to put principles above parties, character above campaign promises, and Common Sense above all -- then I ask you to read this book...."

In any era, great Americans inspire us to reach our full potential. They know with conviction what they believe within themselves. They understand that all actions have consequences. And they find commonsense solutions to the nation's problems.

One such American, Thomas Paine, was an ordinary man who changed the course of history by penning Common Sense, the concise 1776 masterpiece in which, through extraordinarily straightforward and indisputable arguments, he encouraged his fellow citizens to take control of America's future -- and, ultimately, her freedom.

Nearly two and a half centuries later, those very freedoms once again hang in the balance. And now, Glenn Beck revisits Paine's powerful treatise with one purpose: to galvanize Americans to see past government's easy solutions, two-part monopoly, and illogical methods and take back our great country.

"Glenn Beck's Fabricated & Sensationalised Manual Missing Common Sense" 2009-07-19
By Dildo Baggins (Vancouver)
This book is filled with absolute falacies, untruth's & misdirections. Things are taken out of context, figures are out right made up.

For someone who claims to love his country, he sure has a lot of hate for more liberal minded people, who obviously outnumber Republicans. This is a man who praised George W Bush all the time, but doesn't realize that he had his 8 years, he got us into the mess we're in, & the people demanded a change. You lost Glenn, time to move on.

It's also amazing to me how many lies & untruths there are in this book, when one can easily hop onto Google & check out just how distorted or outright wrong his statements are.

It's irritating how he continues to bring religion into the equation, apparently missing the, er, COMMON SENSE, that our country was born from religous freedom: a seperation of church & state. If he wanted to do a religious book, he should have done one. If he wanted to do a political book, he should have done one. Both topics shouldn't be included together interwoven. They should be seperate when talking about government & politics: as our forefathers wanted it.

If you're looking for sensationalised ultra-conservative talking points, then here is your manual. If you're looking for actual common sense, go elsewhere.

What does this book have to do with Thomas Paine? The guy must be spinning in his grave.

Just another excuse to rant on about the neo-con political view. If Beck had a brain he'd be dangerous, but as it is he's an idiot and who cares what he thinks.

Please take the time to read Thomas Paine again if for no other reason than to remind yourself that he sure wouldn't want guys like Beck interpreting his work.
