I bought 2 Gateway P7811FX so I needed 2 large bags to move mines around. I did some research but this bag's style and size won me over. It fits everything that I need to carry around with my laptop including portable HD, pens, paperwork, book and misc cables. My nephew is also enjoying his laptop and bag but does not use to as often as I do. I would definitely recommend this bag for large laptops. My laptop has 17" widescreen and fits very easily.

Perfect size and good space for computer, files, books, etc.
Great purchase for the price.
Thanks to the others for their comments - helped confirm for me it was a good purchase.

nice, sturdy case. Fits my 17" monitor perfectly and has room for files too.

Great notebook case. Before I was using a cheap 15$ case with two sturdy walls and a cover. I just got a new laptop and was also looking for a big enough case that could carry my 9x12 art paper, pens, pencils and a thick plexi-glass drawing board. At first I was considering the CityGear Miami Messenger Notebook Case. But when it comes down to it the Miami is a simple (but quality) case for note book accessories and thats it.
What attracted me to this case was the combination of dedicated office organizer compartments with an abundance of typical laptop organization. The case is quality from top to bottom, there are more compartments than I know what to do with.
I was able to pack all my art supplies in the dedicated organizer section, my laptop in the padded laptop section, power adapter, surge protector, plenty of cd's, my mini Deck Keyboard and my small Sansa MP3 player in the forward section.
One thing I would recommend is getting a small surge protector. I have a very large Radio Shack single line surge protector with a large cord. Everything fit, but it was a tight fit. A compact surge protector would fit much better.
Also remember this is made for 17in laptops. It is a beast compared to typical 15in laptop cases. When filled out with all my gear it is 2x thicker because of its capacity and several inches wider. Trying to maneuver this on a cheap commercial airplane flight would not be fun. That being said I don't fly a lot and it is perfect for everything I need. But when packed it is the size of standard carry-on luggage.
PS: I got this on sale for 55$ at Amazon. I'm not sure what the difference is between the Los Angeles and New York versions of the case. Look up additional pictures on the manufacturers website and other places to see exactly what you are getting.
